Did you know that your liver does a lot more than just filter your blood? More than 500 vital functions have been identified with the liver. From the production of bile, which helps carry away waste and break down fats in the small intestine during digestion, to the production of certain proteins for blood plasma.  The liver functions as the main production site and storehouse for glutathione.  And the focus of this post is a specific combination of amino acids called a tripeptide, known as glutathione.

Glutathione is the most powerful antioxidant known to man, and it's more powerful than any berry or external source of antioxidants.

Increasing your glutathione level will naturally increase your energy, detoxify your body and strengthen your immune system. While you need glutathione for a productive immune system, a weakened immune system hampers the production of glutathione.

And the important thing to know is that supplementing with a glutathione product won't do the job. The reason why is because once that tripetide enters the stomach, the digestive juices break it down and it's no longer usable to the cells in the same way. Although consuming foods with high amounts of antioxidants is a very good idea, there are also many things you can do to increase your own production.

It is vital that we know what will be key precursors to the production of glutathione naturally by our bodies and what have high amounts of antioxidants.
We have found several foods that help the production of glutathione and or contain high amounts of antioxidants: beets, broccoli, garlic, spinach, peppers, melons, cabbage, onions, asparagus, cayenne pepper, lemon, walnuts, caraway seeds.
